2012-2014         Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department, University of Wisconsin-

Milwaukee.  Created 20+ illustrations per year of safety and ergonomics conditions for small business utility employees and contractors for the Susan Harwood Training Grant Materials, United States Department of Labor.  Training material illustrations of life-saving scenarios and solutions published and distributed nationwide for various utilities sectors.

Relevant Experience

2005 – 2010      Project Manager.  Schroeder and Holt Architects, Milwaukee, WI.

As the direct contact to the client, responsibilities included supervision of the design and engineering teams through all phases of project completion, including Schematic Design, Construction Documents and Construction Administration.  During Schematic Design, depended on to provide building concepts and design based on facility programming needs, presentation drawings as required and conduct full due diligence for projects in nine states for various project types, including big-box retail, grocery stores, multi-tenant retail, and financial institutions. During the Construction Document phase, tasks include coordination with consultants, sub-contractors and vendors to provide thorough, accurate and readable drawings for use of construction.  Responsible for submittal to local and state authorities for approval and building permits.  Also provide support in writing project specific specifications for each project to be in direct correlation with the drawings.  Perform Construction Administration duties including shop drawing review, field visits, and immediate, full response to all requests for information while working directly with the General Contractor.  Knowledge of all software programs required to complete necessary tasks, including AutoCAD 2008, Adobe Creative Suite 3, Form Z, Speclink, MasterSpec, and all Microsoft applications.  Completed course from ITT using Revit BIM technology.

 

2005                       Illustrator.

Hired to conceptualize new identity, exterior sculptures and pedestrian flow schematics via illustration for the Fox Valley Children’s Museum, Green Bay, Wisconsin.  Responsibilities included client meetings, board meetings and hosting design charrette for brainstorming new possibilities.

Contracted to produce interior wall drawings for a private residence.

 

2002                       Illustrator.

Contracted to illustrate product design for presentation and patent purposes using three-dimensional software (Form Z).

 

2001-2010         Architectural Illustrator.

Hired to produce both traditional and three-dimensional digital Architectural Illustrations and animated movies for clients and designers.  Clients include business owners, architects, and real estate companies.

 

2001-2007         Designer.

Hired to create logos and corporate identities, including business cards and letterheads, used on various forms and contracts for multiple companies.  Clients include multiple Architecture and Design/build firms, manufacturers and consulting agencies.

 

2001 – 2005      Consultant to Architecture Firms.  Self-Employed, Milwaukee, WI.

Established independent business with responsibilities including, but not limited to, assisting Architectural Firms, Design/Build Companies, and Construction Management Firms with design, construction documents, coordination with subcontractors (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, interior design, structural and civil), review of shop drawings, construction administration, presentation illustrations, digital models, renderings, and animations for various commercial projects.  Additional corresponding duties also consisted of field visits for construction administration and project status reports, as-built production for construction documents, company representation and due diligence.

 

1998 – 2001      Draftsperson and Architectural Illustrator.  The Renschler Company, Madison,
                                   WI.

Depended on to draft complete sets of construction documents for new commercial and interior/exterior alteration projects using AutoCAD Release 14 and AutoCAD 2000 for submittal to City and State review boards/planning commissions for approval.  Also assigned to develop standard prototype documents to improve drafting efficiency within the architectural department. Accountable for researching, learning and implementing Form-Z to provide digital architectural models, renderings and animations.  Created an extensive custom library to be utilized in Adobe Photoshop consisting of backgrounds/skies, people, vehicles, and landscaping and various entourage elements.  Worked in a team-oriented atmosphere providing architectural models, ink/marker/color pencil renderings of projects for client use, review board approval, and marketing purposes.  Proficient in using AutoCAD Release 14 and AutoCAD 2000 Form-Z version 3.8, Adobe Photoshop 6.0, Adobe Illustrator 10, Quark Express 4.0, InDesign 2.5, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word for Windows 2000.

 

1995 – 1998      Draftsperson and Architectural Illustrator.  Ehlers Construction, Madison, WI.

Responsible for drafting complete sets of construction documents for high-end residential, commercial, and various remodel projects using AutoCAD Release13 Windows.  Commercial project types include retail, restaurant and hotel facilities. Assigned to create three-dimensional computer-generated models using Auto-Architect and Auto-Vision.  Duties also included ink/marker renderings of site layouts and elevations, bid coordination, take-offs and estimating, submittal of projects, and improvements to architectural staff organization and efficiency by developing a complete office drafting manual and organizing CAD files.  Photographed completed projects for documentation and presentation purposes.

 

1994 – 1995      General Office Technician.  Potter Lawson Architects, Madison, WI.

Responsible for managing the print room and all architectural reproduction services.  Assisted architects and engineers in all phases of projects including, but not limited to, correctional facilities and educational facilities.  Tasks also included two-dimensional and three-dimensional drafting using AutoCAD Release 12, rendering and preparing presentation boards.  Special assignment work focused on creating a three-dimensional detail of a complex exterior light fixture for the Monona Terrace, originally designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

 

1994 – 1995      Private Tutor.  Potter Lawson Architects, Madison, WI

Taught AutoCAD Release 12 drafting and design software to architectural staff.

 

1993 & 1994     Architectural Illustrator.  Ames, IA.

Selected to illustrate and promote the 1993 and 1994 "Parade of Homes."  Rendered 30 homes for publication.
